Misery and Anguish

The disappearance of horizons, The onset of night,
The groping in darkness, Oh! The firefly’s might.
The misguided aberrant, The treacherous mole,
The hunting and the purging, The death of a soul.

The efforts gone awry, The losing of face,
The despair filled heart, The revival of faith.
The surge of ambition, The success you spin,
The confident smile, The sheepish grin.

The cycle of lies, The contradictions you live,
The pain you nurture, The poems you give!
The apathy she breeds, The lack of spur,
The pride of knowing, Your vision didn’t blur;

The wayward glance, The trace of concern,
The misery and anguish of another sonnet for her
